crap

I was doing laundry - like I do everyday.  I started moving the clothes from the washing machine to the dryer.  I grabbed a handful of clothes and underneath them was a phone filter we had gotten in our start up package from Century Link.  I laughed and thought, "Porter must have thrown this in the pile of clothes?  Good thing we don't need that."  I pulled it out and then saw something else at the bottom of the washing machine.  The other phone filter?  I wish...

I washed our dang camera.  I almost swore.  Not at Porter but at myself...almost.  Think it'll dry and miraculous work?

  1. I hope so too! I have heard from a lot of people that you can put electronics like that in rice and the rice will draw out the moisture. And don't turn it on until you are certain that it is dry. Hopefully it will work after that. But with so much water, the spin cycle, and detergent...I just don't know!

  2. Oh man, that is the worst! I dropped our camera off a 30 foot bridge into shallow water with rocks and it still works. Not quite the same but it works, which beats buying a new one!

Make sure you take out the batteries. We opened up all the doors, soaked it in alcohol (that draws water out)in a plastic bag, and then let it sit and dry for a couple days without touching it. After it's dry try turning it on!

    Good luck girl!

  3. You might be surprised. I've dropped phones in water and Ian has dropped them in paint thinner and if you take it all apart and let it sit they usually still work! Maybe a camera will be the same way? Just open up all the spots and let it air out, hopfully it will!
