new job, moving, and christmas

So I know it's only been a few weeks since my last post, but it feels like forever!
(there it is again, my obsession with dang blogging.)
And in the last few weeks, a ton has happened.

About two weeks before Christmas James was offered a job with Boeing.  He interned with them over the summer in the Engineering Dept. which was awesome.  And then they hired him on for some temp work in the Fabrication Dept. and now...they hired him on full time.
We were so excited!

We packed up our townhouse, said good bye to Logan, and moved into a little house in Davis County.  Yeah, you read it right...a HOUSE!  There is so much space, and a backyard, and a basement with more space.  I love it.  Even though I'm so happy about this new house and job....I miss Logan, terribly.  I miss my friends, my playgroups, the library, the fact that I was 5 minutes from EVERYTHING, and I miss the slow pace way of life there.  I didn't realize how busy it was outside of Logan.
(Pictures of the house will come later...still trying to make it look INSANELY cute!)

Our Christmas was awesome!  I tend to worry about having to travel around on Christmas day.
I grew up just spending the day at home eating food and playing with all the new stuff we got.
But we had a really fun day.

The kids got new jammies on Christmas Eve, (geez where did that start?) we had a delicious breakfast, opened presents, got ready and drove to James's parents house.  We had lunch there, opened more presents and then drove to my sisters. (see...the traveling) We ate more food and played games.  And then finally...we went home and crashed.
It was fun to see as many people as we did and wow...my kids got so many new toys :)

And that's it :)

my two littles ones

Just within the last week, Paige has completely changed!  When she wakes up in the morning, she coos and laughs and squeals until I come to get her.  She has all of a sudden discovered that her hands can reach out in front of her and grab things.  And Porter LOVES to hand her all kinds of toys.  She is extremely social.  If anyone even glances at her, she is ecstatic.  She smiles and squeals  And out of all of us, Porter can make her laugh the hardest.  It's adorable.  And...she's 4 months today.

Porter...oh my goodness, I could go on forever about Porter.  He knows so much!  And he just keeps learning.  I'm amazed at how much he talks.  He has fallen in love with TV...dang winter.  And he always wants to watch Robin Hood - which he calls, "Rooster."  He and I have a lot of fun together.  We bake, sing, dance, kick and throw balls around the house, and run up and down the stairs.

I want him to stop growing up.  I want both of them to stop growing.  Because right now, I'm their #1 fan.  How long will that last?

let's be honest

There's not really a whole lot going on in my life.  We settled right back into our routine after Thanksgiving.  The library, the grocery store, trips to Wal Mart, playing at our friends house.  But I have this horrible urge to blog about something.  Are you addicted to blogging?  Because I totally am.

I try to think of things I can take pictures of so maybe it'll look like we're up to something amazing!  But, truth be told, we're just doing the same old thing.  So enjoy a few pictures I received from my Dad that he took of us while in St. George.
(please don't make fun of my hair...I quickly put up my hair to nurse Paige on top of that big rock.  And no one was kind enough to tell me I had a few bulges.  Oh and yeah, that's right, I'm that mom who will nurse anywhere.  And I think it's freaking awesome.)

a warm thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving with my parents in St. George.  It was such a nice weekend.  There were no expectations, no schedule...it was very relaxing.

We stayed up late talking and watching movies.  We hiked around lots of BIG red rock.
James and I took my parents bikes out for a ride.  It was hilarious.  I'm insanely out of shape.
We took part in Black Friday shopping on Thursday night at Wal Mart.  Ah!  I love Black Friday!
We ate lots of yummy food.  I probably gained 40...no, more like 500 pounds.
And we all bought some of these chairs shown in the picture.

3 months

Yesterday she turned 3 months.  I love her.

I remember my mom talking to me about having her second child.  She was so worried about loving the second as much as the first.  She didn't know how she could give more love.  And then she saw that second child and her love exploded. (her words...awesome, huh?)

That's how I feel about this little girl.  I love her more than anything.  And yet I love Porter more than anything.  It's amazing.  It's also amazing being a mother.  I know I feed you a lot of cute pictures and funny stories.  But it's not always like that.  Sometimes it's hard...really hard.  But when I look at beautiful pictures of my children or take the time to tell funny stories about them, I realize how lucky I am.  My life is good.

my man

It's November.  And everyone keeps blogging about what they're grateful for.  So, I've been thinking about what I'm grateful for.  And most of those things wouldn't be possible without this sexy man right here:

Because of him, we have an apartment to live in, food to eat (guys...I love food) and clothes for my cute babies to wear.
Because of him, I have two BEAUTIFUL babies!
And because of him, I get to stay home and be a full time Mom to those babies.

James, I love you!  I'm grateful for you.

P.S. I'm also grateful that he fixed the faucet and the garbage disposal last night.  I broke them both.  Do you know how hard it is to do dishes with no disposal and a faucet that has no pressure?

yadda yadda yadda

I lost the camera for a week.  It was in the case, never thought to look there.

We were sick for two stinkin' days.  Ugh.  James slept in our bed and I laid on the couch while Porter had the best day of his life.  He did whatever he wanted, and I let him. :)  If you have ever been sick in your life, don't come to our house.  Because without a doubt, we'll catch it and we'll be sick.

I very much want these boots for Christmas.  They're from Target...aren't they beautiful?  Please, Santa.

Porter went to nursery on Sunday.  He did great.  I worried the whole time.

Paige smiles and laughs all the time.  It's so cute.

We're going to St. George for Thanksgiving.  Oh my GOSH, I can hardly wait!

halloween

I was really excited about yesterday.  Right when we woke up, I started talking to Porter about Halloween and how we were going to get candy!  After breakfast I put my kids in their costumes.  And then we started.  There were a ton of businesses that were doing trick or treating and my goal was to hit as many as we could.  I met up with my friend and her twin boys.  She outdid me on costumes...everyone loved their costumes.  Can't blame them :)
We walked on Main Street trick or treating at the little shops.  This wasn't as fun as I imagined.  It was cold and windy.  As soon as Porter received a piece of candy he wanted to eat it, even if he was already munching on something.  And pulling kids in and out of the stroller was...awful.

After naps, we went back out to a retirement center.  Now that is the place to get candy!  All of the residents were sitting outside their door ready to hand out candy.  It was great.  Porter loved it...a lot.

When James got home from work, we went out again. (ha! I know, I'm crazy.)  We walked to a few houses and called it good.

And guess what?  Porter can now say "candy".

new favorites

I've discovered a few things that are becoming my favorite...maybe even addictions.
1. The new TV show, PanAm.  Don't tease me, go watch it.
2. Zulily.  Did you know this existed?  Why didn't you tell me?
3. The sesame street station on Pandora.  We could sing & dance to that all day.
4. And finally, one of Porter's all time new favorite thing to do:
Climb on top of the toilet.  Stretch his little body between the toilet and sink.  Grab a hold of the sink and pull himself up onto the counter.  Stick his feet into the sink.  Stare in the mirror, talk to himself and make silly faces.  Sound like anyone you know? ;)

10.23.2011

his & hers

Boys.  They went camping in the mountains for three days.  There were no bathrooms.  They packed can chili, steaks and pancake mix.  They slept on the ground, in a tent, in October.  Pretty sure James got a better night's sleep then he does at home with two babies.  They hiked around in orange holding onto their guns.  They probably also did some crazy, dangerous stunts that I prefer never to learn of.  (boys!)  And...they didn't shoot a deer.

Girls.  We made sugar cookies.  Cookie dough, Halloween cookie cutters, frosting and sprinkles.  We played at the park with my kids.  We STUFFED ourselves with chips & salsa, ribs, and the Molten Cake at Chili's.  We stayed up late laughing in my bed. (quietly so as not to wake the babies) Also ate pancakes for breakfast. We spent the morning driving around town looking at stores for a very specific piece of furniture for Crystal's baby room.

We both VERY much enjoyed our weekend!

10.18.2011

pumpkins

We went to a pumpkin patch last night.  Porter knows how to say pumpkin so the entire drive there he said just that.  "Punkin...punkin!"  I was excited to see what Porter would do when he saw all of the pumpkins.  At first he chose to run around the parking lot and throw rocks.  Dangit.

And then he got really excited about running on the haystacks.

But he FINALLY started talking to and pointing at the pumpkins.

And Paige smiled and laughed in her carseat the whole time :)
Oh and P.S. I totally know what my kids are going to be for Halloween. Ha...I'm so excited!

10.10.2011

a day for paige

We had a great weekend, saw TONS of family, ate lots of yummy food, and James blessed
Paige Tiffanie Eldridge.

(yup...finally decided on a middle name.  That was a hard one.  I felt guilty or selfish for naming her after me.  But I grew her, birthed her...she's mine.  She can totally be named after me.)
This is the same dress I was blessed in & see her bracelet? We had matching ones :)
My parents and brother arrived on Saturday.  We went to the zoo.

On Sunday we blessed Paige.f

 The lunch afterwards....

gatorade, popsicles & toast

drinking Orange Gatorade
We have this nasty bug at our house that we can't shake.  I thought we were all better.  And then it struck again...at night.  Of course.  Why does it always have to happen in the middle of the night?
eating a homemade roll - note the soft pants :)
So, today we're playing it safe.  We're all in nice comfty sweats.  We are not going anywhere today.  We are going to eat toast and applesauce and stay hydrated on yummy popsicles.  I have washed all of the bedding and I'm contemplating disinfecting the toys and door knobs again.  I opened all of the windows to freeze out our awful bug.  Please pray that it's over because I just don't know how much more I can take.

Luckily, Miss Paige is very healthy...and likes to eat her hand :)
