summer at the eldridges

Because of James's summer internship (with BOEING!) we have been spending a lot of our time at his parents house.  And let me just say...Porter has LOVED it!
Grandma and Grandpa's house has endless possibilities: the toy room, the stairs, the musical clock, the PUPPIES, the horses, the cows, the huge backyard, the kiddie swimming pool, the fence, the willow tree, the long couch, etc.  He has fallen in love with their house and his grandparents.  And I'm pretty sure he won't know what to do with himself once we start staying home again.

i found it!

Yes!  I found the camera.  It was in the bag of adorable clothes I bought last week for my new baby.

Anyway, so last Thursday we drove to Park City to visit one of my very good friends from high school.  She lives in South Dakota and works as a scrub nurse - yup, just like Grey's Anatomy.  She coaches a softball team and they were in Park City for the week at a softball tournament.  Her parents were there too.  It was so fun to see them!

And my very talented husband just finished a mini crib for our baby girl.  I wanted to buy a bassinet, he thought they looked cheesy so he made one.  Aren't you glad he convinced me to let him make it?  It looks amazing!

Guys...just 21 more days.  Ha...insane!

ugh

My sister recently posted a post on her blog entitled "ugh". And I shouldn't copy but that's exactly how I feel at the moment so I'm taking it.  Okay, Rachelle?

Ugh.  I can't find the camera...with all of the cute pictures of Porter playing at my in laws.  And the pictures from Park City when we went to see my friend, Amy.  And I wanted to take pictures at our picnic today.  Ugh.  AND I was suppose to send my Dad the rest of the family reunion pictures/videos.  Sorry Dad...can you wait until Tuesday? (cause I'm pretty sure the camera is at my in laws)

I had all of these cute things I wanted to blog about.  Ugh.  But instead you get this disgusted post.

BUT besides those things...we're having a great weekend and I bought more baby clothes for my little girl.  AWESOME.  Oh...wait, one more thing.  We still don't have a name for her yet.  Ugh!

2 years and counting...

Dear James -
Remember this day?!  It was pretty sweet, huh?  It was really hot outside and everyone kept complaining about it.  But I was just so happy!  I didn't want the picture taking to be over (obviously, I mean look at that kiss!)

Happy Anniversary my handsome husband!
(4 weeks shy of 2 years and 2 kids - we don't waste anytime)

we're going

I had this fantastic idea to surprise James with Harry Potter tickets.  I blew the secret about an hour after I purchased them :)

But who cares!  Cause we're totally going to see this movie.  I just freaking can't wait!  And I'm sad it's all coming to an end...and I'm pretty sure my entire family thinks I'm a dork for loving this series, but I don't care.  Because I LOVE HARRY POTTER!

life is sweet

This morning I woke up to my baby saying, "Ma, ma ma ma!"
I chased him around the parking lot, neighboring park, and foyer of a movie theater - because what ACTIVE 14 month old would rather sit and watch a movie?
We shared an apple, a plum, a banana, and strawberries today. (did I mention he loves fruit?)
I let him eat a cherry popsicle.  After his hands, arms, chest, and entire face were red, he threw his stick in the garbage can.
When I sang today, he made noises right along with me.
We played in the rain after dinner.
I held him in my lap as we rode down the driveway on a wiggle car
He snuggled up to me on my bed until he fell asleep.

I'm telling you...being a Mom is the best :)

for you

For my friend Jashley who made a special request, and for anyone else who hasn't had the opportunity (ha!) to see me this pregnancy - here you go.

 Me.
Pregnant.
At 34 weeks.

Please no snickering, giggling or laughing of any kind.  I can see you doing it.  Don't tease me about my silly clown shorts.
So yes, in 6 weeks I will have my own baby girl.  I will be a mother of two.
Age 24 and two babies.
Has a nice ring to it huh?  Sure makes me happy!

the merrifield reunion

Over the 4th of July weekend, we were in Idaho.  With my WHOLE family!  It's kind of a rare thing for the Merrifields to all be together at the exact same time, but it happened.  And it was wonderful.  We have a lot of fun together.  Like any other family, we eat too much, laugh too hard, and stay up too late.  We also have a thing for laying out and playing in water.  And this year we added a few new traditions - a family talent show and an Olympics - both of which were great.

And I'm pretty sure Porter loved all of the attention he got.  All of the adults hugged and played with him, and the kids let him point at and touch them.  He calls all other kids, "babies"
playing pool against my parents
at the talent show we had little bags of popcorn - Porter ate the leftovers in every bag!
and we discovered he can eat watermelon on his own!
the merrifield grandkids - with one walking away :)
