I've been thinking a lot lately about my family's eating habits. I say family's but it's all on me. I'm the one who buys groceries and cooks meals and prepares snacks. I'm the one who makes sure there are enough chocolate chips in the house to make cookies for a whole year. And I've been a little concerned about it all lately. I checked out several books from the library and after I read them...was totally inspired. And now I'm trying to make some changes.
And I need help! I'm refocusing my groceries on whole foods and cutting out as much processed and packaged food as I can. I'm also trying to cut back on the amount of meat we eat. I know I should be buying all organic but I just don't think I'm ready to commit to that - ha! So I need help. I want ALL of your recipes. Recipes for snacks, breakfast, lunch, and dinners. I want your recipes for green smoothies and your recipes for meatless meals. I need them all because I'm trying really hard to change the way we eat. And all I still want is a dang cookie and pasta for dinner :)
And don't be annoyed...but you should totally read The Honest Life. It's awesome. Sure, it might be a little bit of an advertisement for her company, but I still loved it. And I'm trying to really hard to incorporate her Honest Cleaning and Honest Eating in my life.
Ok email, text, or leave comments with your recipes please! :)
Good for you! Sorry I don't have any awesome recipes for you, but I support you all the way! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteSend me your email address and I have the best Greek yogurt recipe. It is so easy to make and we just add a little honey, jame or fresh fruit or granola to it(or all that) and eat it practically every morning. The kids love it to! And it's SO SO SO good for you! You can also use the whey in soups or use the yogurt as a subsitute for oil in many many recipes! I have been making it for about three months and will never go back! Laurenastle@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteLauren, I'm so excited! It's tiffnjames@gmail.com thanks so much!
DeleteWe have our fair share of chocolate chips at our house too though :)
ReplyDeleteAND I am a huge ice cream fan and if I had to choose between ice cream and this kind of yogurt, it would be this yogurt hands down. You won't find anything this good in the stores! Ok....signing off!
ReplyDeleteOne simple thing that i have been doing is simply eliminating or reducing the meat in foods we already eat. So i put more veggies and less chicken in enchilladas, and in casseroles that call for a poind of hamburger (besides the fact it is so expensive, it makes me feel healthier) i only put in a half of a pound. But, like i said, i usually have to compensate by adding more vegetables so it isnt so empty.
ReplyDeleteCheck Out The Facebook Page 100 Days Of Real Food. The blog is amazing, and she has a ton of really yummy recipes. I love her tips and tricks. We started on a real food journey a few months ago. It has been a hard challenge, but worth it, and we still haven't switched over everything.
ReplyDeleteGirl, you know me. I'm huge fan of clean eating/vegetarian meals. Lots on my blog! Text me any time (obviously I suck at answering my phone but I'm trying to be better!!!)
