Today is DAY ONE of waking up without an extra pair of hands to help. My mom was here for a week and it was AMAZING. By the end of the week, Porter was taking his shoes to her to go outside. When she left, I cried. Not just a little crying, but a lot of crying. Why does she have to live so far away?
Last night when I realized that today would be DAY ONE, I had a little bit of a panic attack. But after a pep talk from my husband, I realized I could do it and we would all survive. And we have been.
Today, Porter is EXACTLY 15 months old. Where did time fly? I don't think there is any cuter kid. He loves trucks, puppies, motorcycles, dirt, rocks...totally all boy. I love it when a toy, book, or even his fingers are stuck and he makes a face while trying to pull it out and yells "STUCK!" It makes me so excited when James comes home and he and Porter spend an hour chasing, wrestling and growling at each other. I love all of the words Porter can say; especially "Mom".
Today, Paige is EXACTLY one week old. Oh my goodness she is such a good baby. Her sleeping habits are amazing. When she's awake, she is content just looking around while I try to protect her from her big brother. I know he doesn't mean to be rough but he always wants to point to her nose and rub her little head. I really am so glad we decided to have another one so quickly because she's beautiful.
OH! And one more thing. We took a nice Sunday afternoon walk yesterday.
You look great! A little jealous you're all done with pregnancy #2... I need one of those wraps for my next baby. Can't believe you are a mom of two already!! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteCall me when you're feeling up to it! I want to know EVERYTHING! It looks like delivery went smooth, if you're up and walking after a week! I hope everything is easier with number 2!

ReplyDeleteLove love love your cute family! It is so hard when mom leaves - I remember crying when my mom left me with April. I had no idea what to even do with a baby! I can't imagine having two running around! :) You look so good and your kids are so DANG cute!

ReplyDeleteI had some issues with blogger and not being able to comment, but I figured out the problem, and just wanted to tell you your kids are so darn cute. And by the way, I totally balled after my mom left after I had my second too. It was hard, but you'll get through it. You are a strong woman.
