little miss paige

This little girl is a little older than 8 months.  I don't even know how that is possible.
I feel a wee bit guilty.  I have taken fewer pictures of her, written fewer blog posts about her, and I'm 100% positive I have spent less time with her than I ever did with Porter.  Ah, it's hard.  I love my two children equally and yet I feel like she's neglected too often.  It's going to get worse with more kids, huh?

So in honor of my beautiful baby girl, this post, is all for her!

little visit

My parents stopped by on Saturday night.  I had two of my sisters over and we barbequed.

Hey - other Merrifield siblings.  Jealous? ;)

shoutouts & links

Last week was really busy!

On Tuesday, Katie, my friend from college, came to us.  We bought kites and flew them at the park.  She brought the seventh season of Boy Meets World.  Oh my gosh, I was in heaven!
On Wednesday, our friends from Logan drive down to see us.  I met her at the park last summer.  I think Paige was two weeks old.  She was strapped to my chest and Porter was running around.  Her twin boys were also running around. We were instant friends :)
We spent the day playing with toys, walking outside, and eating cookies.  She is seriously the best.  She's that friend that I could call anytime and say "Come play, I'm bored" and she'd come.  And vise versa for me.  I miss her!
Wednesday night my friend, Caley came for dinner.  She just moved to Ogden!  Pretty sure that fact is going to change my life for the better.  We stayed up late eating cookies and popcorn.
Thursday morning I babysat my friend's little boy.  He cried, a lot.  This is why I don't usually have babysitters for my kids.  I know they'd cry the whole time.
Friday night I babysat my sisters' kids so they could go out.  It was actually really fun!  Porter loves his cousins and their house.  There are so many toys there!
On Saturday, Porter and I went to a friend's birthday party.  This was the first "friend" birthday party he was invited to.  It was adorable.  I got lots of good ideas for his upcoming birthday!
That evening we drove to Draper and had a family birthday party for some of James's family at Planet Play.  Oh my gosh.  Have you been there?  If you live even remotely close, you should go.  Pizza buffet, arcade games, laser tag, bowling, go carts, we could have stayed for hours.
After dinner, James and I went back to his parents to get our kids ready for bed...and then had an excellent idea!  What if we put our kids to bed and went to see The Hunger Games?  We did it!  We even held hands during the movie.  And the movie?  I freaking loved it.

We got these hats from Grandma & Grandpa E.  My kids love them!
My parents are coming this weekend...what what?!

As my sister, Rachelle would say - here's our weekend in pictures.

(No picture of our Easter Sunday outfits. Dang, we were so cute!)

the best non-holiday weekend

My friend said, "General Conference weekend is my favorite non-holiday weekend."
I completely agree.
The whole weekend is centered around food, family and the gospel.  How much better can it get?  And ours was nothing short of that.
I wrote a menu for the weekend and stuck on the fridge.  I made homemade biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting and a yummy roast for Sunday dinner.
I was hoping for warmer weather, but we still got to play outside a little.
And James didn't do any homework, so we were together all weekend!  That's my favorite :)

This is how we looked all weekend...entertaining the children during conference, while wearing comfty clothes.  Note - Porter's sweatpants and my sweatpants.  Oh, Porter is under James :)

and we're live...

We got a new camera.
I spent the ENTIRE day taking pictures of my kids.  I wanted to catch up fast!
Enjoy :)

the best saturday ever

The Best Saturday Ever:
-Eggs n Bacon for breakfast (my favorite)
-Long walk to the park
-Played at the park for an hour while Paige slept in the stroller
- Came home, played outside, then ate lunch
-EVERYONE took naps, including me
-Woke up, ate a snack, went to ANOTHER park
-Played there for about an hour
-Walked around Wal Mart
-Ate at a pizza joint for dinner
(where Porter threw his sippy cup across the table hitting my plate of food, and where Paige grabbed my glass spilling water all over the floor.)
-Came home, played outside in our backyard.  Geez I love living in a house.
-Baths, snacks, BEDTIME!
-Painted the storage room we're completing in the basement
-REDBOX
-Bed
*Oh and did I mention that James was with us the entire day?  No homework, no work.  It was amazing.  AND it was 75 degrees. Come on, summer!
